Make a Gift to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Through an IRA Distribution

Normally, a distribution from your IRA is taxed as ordinary income. If you are age 70½ or older and interested in reducing your taxable income, please consider making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) contribution to the Parish. Federal tax law allows eligible individuals to satisfy all or a part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and help sustain the work of the Parish through a QCD. These distributions are tax-free as long as they are paid directly from the IRA to an eligible charitable organization.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution:

  • Makes the most of your charitable gifts by sending the funds straight to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish without being taxed.
  • Lowers your overall tax liability by lowering (or eliminating) the taxable amount of your IRA distribution.
  • Could reduce your future Medicare premiums.

An IRA charitable rollover is a very simple gift to make. It allows you to redirect your hard-earned money from taxes to your Parish. Contact your IRA administrator for details to make this donation directly to the parish.
